AKA Featured Member – Phillip Whitaker

Phillip Whitaker 1. Tell us a little bit about yourself. Phillip Whitaker from Enid, Oklahoma. Enid is the home of the 2012 and 2015 AKA Convention. We also hold the North American Record for most kites in the Air – 2009. I am an Accountant and work for a family owned Food Distribution Company. I am also the Chairman of the annual meeting.

2. Why did you join the AKA? To connect with other kite enthusiasts, find resources for kite purchases and kite making.

3. What is your favorite kite to fly? Modified double box Delta designed by Barbara Meyer

4. Where is your favorite place to fly? Eureka Springs, Arkansas

5. If you could fly with anyone dead or alive, who would it be, and what would you fly? I’d like to fly with Richard Dermer again. We would fly miniatures. Then we would launch some Box Kites.
